A clip from What's Your Name?: Short I is shown. (EKA: Lionel's Great Escape Trick)
SCENE 1 | The episode starts with a delivery woman bringing in a package with some books in it. Lionel comes in and asks his parents if his new book is here. Theo opens the package and takes four books out, "The Selfish Giant by Trish Tishman", "A Very Squishy Fish by Kishma Kishburn", "Miss Gish's Wishes by Misha Fisher", and "Cliff Hanger and the Fish and the Eagle by Livingston Dangerously", which was the book Lionel wanted! Then Leona arrives, wanting to know what Lionel's new book is, but Lionel tells her that she won't be interested in it.
SCENE 1
(cont'd) |
Lionel tells his little sister Leona that it's the brand new Cliff Hanger adventure. She wants her brother to read the book to her, despite not liking the Cliff Hanger books, but she loves eagles.
(The Adventures of Cliff Hanger: Cliff Hanger and the Fish and the Eagle (part 1)) In the story, Cliff Hanger sees an eagle and dresses up as a big fish so he can get off the cliff. Leona finds it hard to believe that eagles eat fish, but Lionel tells her that they do, so he decides to show her proof.
Insert | An announcer claims that Busterfield is ticklish. Busterfield says that he is not ticklish, but Clay tells him that everybody is ticklish so she and Walter try to tickle him. Sadly, they realize that he was right, so the pigeons leave.
Insert | The Gray Hand removes the "ish" from the word "fish".
Puppets | Martha Reader and The Vowelles sing the short "i" sound in their zippy big hit "dish".
Song | What's Your Name?: short i (Snapping fingers added) (EKA: Lionel's Great Escape Trick)
Celebrity | Fred Says: fish
Puppets | What's Cooking? with Theo and Cleo: Squished Fish on a Dish (EKA: To the Ship! To the Ship!)
Insert | Sea: fish, fix, six, fix, fish
SCENE 2 | Lionel reads a book about real eagles to Leona. They then go to the Bald Eagle page, which is the same kind of eagle as the one in the Cliff Hanger book, and it shows that they do indeed eat fish. Leona is surprised, and decides to dress up like a fish so that her wish can come true.
Song | Sloppy Pop sings Sometimes Y (EKA: There's a Fly in My Soup)

Puppets | Cleo sings "Sh, sh, sh... Shush" (EKA: To the Ship! To the Ship!)
Insert | The Gray Hand puts the "ish" back in the word "fish".
SCENE 3 | Leona comes back with a fish costume just like Cliff Hanger, and tells the eagle in the book to pick her up so she can go flying. Lionel tells her that the eagle won't pick her up because real eagles won't think she's a fish. After Lionel leaves to finish his book, the eagle comes out of the book and picks Leona up.
SCENE 3
(cont'd) |
Lionel continues the story from where it left off.
(The Adventures of Cliff Hanger: Cliff Hanger and the Fish and the Eagle (part 2)) The eagle gets Cliff Hanger off the cliff and drops him into its nest. Unfortunately, the eaglets begin eating Cliff Hanger's fish costume, so he jumps off the nest, and lands back on the cliff. After the story is finished, Lionel suddenly hears Leona's voice and is shocked that the eagle took her inside the book!
SCENE 3
(cont'd) |
Leona sings a song while the eagle carries her, until the eagle notices that she's just a lion cub in a fish costume, so he drops her, causing her to fall!
SCENE 3
(cont'd) |
Theo and Cleo tell Lionel that it's time for dinner, but Lionel says there's no time, and the parents are shocked that Leona is in the Cliff Hanger book, still falling. They call for Click's help and she drags and drops Leona out of the book in time! Leona tells her parents that eagles eat fish and she went flying, but Lionel doesn't believe her.
Insert | Walter comes back with a jackhammer and tells Clay that this is how they'll tickle a stone statue. Fortunately, Walter's plan worked, Buster is ticklish!
Designated Reader | Cleo and Lionel read "The Adventures of Mississippi Skip and his Pirate Ship". (EKA: Episode 01: Pecos Bill Cleans Up the West) |

Quotes[]
- Cleo: Patience, Lionel.
- Lionel: Ohhhhh!
- Theo: [gasps as he spots Cliff Hanger and the Fish and the Eagle] AHA!
- Lionel: AHA!
- Cleo: Aha.
- Theo: [sarcastically] Could this be the book you've been waiting for, Lionel, as if I didn't know?
- Walter: [holding a jackhammer] This is the way you tickle a stone statue.
- Busterfield: [laughing hysterically as the word "not" gets removed]
- Clay: Buster is ticklish!
- Theo: Time for dinner, son.
- Lionel: Oh, no, no, no. No time for dinner.
- Cleo: Oh, it's always time for dinner.
- Lionel: Cliff Hanger's just a made-up story. A real eagle's not going to think you're a real fish.
- Leona: Yes he is, yes he is, and he's going to come out of this book and pick me up and I'm going to fly. You'll see.
- Announcer: Buster is not ticklish.
- Busterfield: Ah, accuracy in the media. You saw it here first.
- Lionel: (reading 'Cliff Hanger' story) Suddenly, Cliff sees an eagle, flying high above the cliff.
- Leona: I'm an eagle! I'm an eagle!
- Lionel: (clears throat)
- Leona: Sorry.
- Cliff: Nice fish suit, miss (when he sees Leona in her fish suit).
