Oh, Yes, It Can! is the twelfth episode of Season 2 of Between the Lions, and episode 42 in total.

Plot

Karen Kandel tells a story from the Ashanti people on the West coast of Africa with many short "a" words about a yam, a fish trap, and a piece or basket of fabric. The Lion family then begin to imagine that various objects and places are talking to them, just like in the story.

Notes and Trivia

• This story would be told again in Season 9.
• The music that plays during the Sky Words segment in this episode is the same from Touching the Moon and Fuzzy Wuzzy, Wuzzy?. And has the same background as Red Hat, Green Hat and A King and His Hawk.
• The color pattern words segment has the same font as in Zoop! Zoop!.
• When the Library speaks he has the same voice as Barnaby B. Busterfield III possibly as an in joke.
• Elmo from Sesame Street makes a cameo in the segment "Dance in Smarty Pants".
• This is the second time where Walter and Clay are laying down. The first was Episode 34: Icarus's Wings.
• This is the second time a Story takes place in Africa, the first was Red Hat, Green Hat.
• This episode was last broadcasted on PBS in either March or April 2009.
• The Vowel Boot Camp segment in this episode seems to have been the first segment filmed, meaning they filmed in alphabetical order, due to rougher versions of certain elements; such as the room being fully lit, Sergeant Mark just simply calling the vowels "letterheads" instead of "lower-case letterheads" and saying "Move It!" five times instead of three and not saying "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" or Wake up! Wake up!" before he says "This isn't Camp Nappy-Packy-Wacky-Lake. This is Vowel Boot Camp!", the vowels sounding off is much slower, there is nothing before the sergeant calls the A forth (He says "And you thought Vowel Boot Camp was going to be easy!" in Camp Easy-Peasy-Eat-a-Lot before calling the E fourth and in the other three segments, he corrects some issues with the soldiers) and instead of saying "Front and center...", he says "On the double, A, and I'm not talking batteries." (adding the last bit, because he sounded like he was referring to AA batteries), the camera angle is different as he does so, showing the A coming into view and the A says "And..." before explaining his short sound.

Goofs

• When the Gray Hand puts the 'a' back in "can", the hand cuts into the screen and disappears.
• In the credits, Sesame Workshop is incorrectly listed as Sesame Street Workshop.
