- Before the segment made its debut on Oh, Yes, It Can!, four episodes before it included a preview showing some of the guest stars (each episode had a different variation) accompanied by a short version of the song.
- In the versions with Elmo and Bert, while Elmo's performer at the time, Kevin Clash and Bert's current performer Eric Jacobson performed the respective characters and their left hands, Clash did Bert's right hand and Jacobson did Elmo's right hand.
- Arty Smartypants sang the verses; but similar to Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” music video.
- The stock clip of Dance in Smarty Pants flies around during the virus in The Good Seed.
- In The Good Seed, the song plays in audio during the virus when Lionel sadly sings "I'm Not Gonna Be a Librarian".
- A small instrumental portion of the song can be heard on Cleo's music player in Pablo the Artist.
Goofs[]
- At 0:37 in Version 3, Heather Asch's forehead can be seen.
- During the shot of Leona Lion and Lionel Lion in the short version, Lionel's shirt, while still green, is a much brighter shade of green and is transparent as a result of using a green screen. This was corrected in the full version.
