Chicken Jane and the Tap Dancing Bat is an installment in the Fun with Chicken Jane book series that teaches the letters a "a" sound.

Scot, Dot, and Chicken Jane are in the theater, when Dot spots some Tap-Dancing Bat. Scot then see him. To help the kids escape the situation, Chicken Jane writes the letters "d-a-s-h", "dash". The kids do so, and the Batley step on Chicken Jane, causing her to dash into a tree.
